Camille, an introverted teenage skateboarder from Long Island, meets and befriends an all-girl, New York City-based skateboarding crew called Skate Kitchen.
The cast is made up of a group of real NY skaters, playing fictionalised versions of themselves. With atmospheric and hypnotic skating sequences and a laid-back authenticity, Skate Kitchen precisely captures the experience of women in male-dominated spaces and tells a story of a girl who learns the importance of camaraderie and self-discovery.
Part of a double-bill alongside A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, Grit and Glide is programmed and delivered by our Forum Cinema Champions. The evening consists of live music, free pizza, a curated selection of short films and two features.
A special reduced ticket offer for the whole evening of £7.50 when you book both films.
