Tyne Valley Film Festival is back!

Monday 19 Feb 2024

Forum Cinema Hexham is proud to present Tyne Valley Film Festival 2024! Now on its fourth edition, Tyne Valley Film Festival promises to unite film enthusiasts across the region for an immersive 14-day celebration of the silver screen. Between 15th –28th March 2024, 36 screenings will take place across 26 unique venues in the Tyne Valley, with a truly diverse range of films spanning the entire history of cinema. From turn of the century silent classics, to preview screenings and family favourites, there’s something for everyone.

Our 2024 programme builds on previous editions of the festival whilst remaining true to its roots of being authentically community programmed. We work closely with the many partner organisations and film clubs involved in curating an exciting and diverse selection of films chosen by their members. The Forum Cinema team have also selected a handful of fantastic films which we are excited to share with audiences new and old. We are also proud to be supporting the next generation of British filmmakers by screening a variety of locally-made short films before some of the festival’s main features.

We are especially excited to extend our reach even further this year, collaborating with more film clubs than ever before and introducing new partner venues, like the prestigious Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle. We have also worked closely with the newly founded Forum Cinema Champions in curating bespoke events aimed at people aged 16-25. This also includes the introduction of £3 tickets for ALL festival events for those aged 25 and under. We are also introducing a Festival Pass which grants audience members entry to all festival screenings that are being held at The Forum Cinema for just £25.

Led by the Forum Cinema Hexham, Tyne Valley Film Festival is supported by Film Hub North with National Lottery funding on behalf of the BFI Film Audience Network.

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Spacehive for a brand-new cinema inclusion project, and we need your support to make it a reality. At The Forum, we believe in the power of film to bring people together and create community through cinema. That's why we're embarking on a journey to foster creativity and inclusivity by facilitating the creation of short films made by individuals with additional needs culminating in a celebratory screening in October at our beautiful cinema.

We will be collaborating closely with service users and students from The Priory School Hexham, Gateway into the Community, Stage Fright CIC, and WeCan. Together, we will provide the necessary training, guidance, and resources to empower these individuals to express themselves through the art of filmmaking.

But we can't do it alone. Your support is crucial in ensuring the success of this initiative. By contributing to our crowdfunding campaign, you will directly enable us to cover the costs of equipment, training, and other essential resources needed to bring these stories to life.

Here's how you can help:

1. Donate: Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a difference. Visit our Spacehive page to pledge your support today.

2. Spread the Word: Share our crowdfunding campaign with your friends, family, and colleagues. Together, we can amplify our reach and inspire more people to join our cause.

We understand that times may be challenging for many at the moment, but any support you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for being a Friend of The Forum and for your continued support.
