Holy Shit, Can Poop Change the World? : UK Green Fest (TBC)

Holy Shit, Can Poop Change the World? : UK Green Fest

Flush and forget? Or the final frontier of recycling? Looking for answers about the radical potential of human excrement, director Rubén Abruña embarks on an entertaining and enlightening adventure across the globe to investigate whether our very own waste should be reconsidered as a much-needed resource.

From sustainable city living in Geneva to Uganda's singing Poop Pirates, we learn how our most unheeded asset could help to mitigate the climate crisis, generate energy - and even save lives. Far from taboo, can this compelling new wave of thinking soon become mainstream?

Laurel and Hardy: Our Relations (U)

Laurel and Hardy: Our Relations

Join us for a special event hosted by the Beau Chumps tent of Sunderland. (A chapter of The Sons of the Desert – an international organisation devoted to keeping the lives and works of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy before the public.)

We will be screening 2 shorts and a feature, that’s 2 Laurel and Hardy’s for the price of 1… in 3 films!

In Twice Two, Stan and Ollie have married each other's twin sisters. On their anniversary, a dinner is arranged but petty bickering soon takes over.

In Brats, Stan and Ollie attempt to spend a relaxing night at home playing checkers, but the antics of their mischievous sons keep interrupting their recreation.

Our Relations introduces us to Laurel and Hardy’s long-lost twin brothers! When they land in town with a valuable pearl ring in their possession and a gang of thugs in pursuit, the mistaken duo ends up in deep water.

There will be a short intermission where souvenirs will be available to buy, fellow Sons will be available to speak with, drinks will be available at the bar and a special raffle will be available to enter.
