Cafe/Bar

With a great view over Hexham's Market place and fully stocked with a range of food and drink including some locally sourced treats, our café bar is the perfect spot to meet with friends and watch the world go by.

Our cafe/bar is open to all the public, regardless of whether you are joining us for a film, and is fully stocked with everything from handmade cakes to locally brewed ales, all at an affordable price.

All of the products stocked in our café bar are also available to take into the auditorium during a film screening.

The cafe/bar always opens 30minutes before our first film of the day and closes once our final performance ends, unless otherwise stated. This is typically from midday on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday and later afternoon the remaining days of the week.

Our café bar hosts several fantastic regular and one-off events including art, music, poetry and much more!

Art Exhibitions - Our beautiful Art Deco area has proved a very popular backdrop for local artists to display their work and we host monthly exhibitions showcasing the talent and creativity of Northumbrians.

Current Exhibition is a group show, ‘Through Different Eyes’, including artists Em Strain, Saffron Holland and Richard Eyers.

Upcoming exhibition from Lucy Wilkinson

Lucy Wilkinson is an illustrator and printmaker based in Northumberland. Her new exhibition work is primarily in oils and ink, with her subjects reflecting a keen interest in Northern social and cultural heritage. Particular attention is given to architecture and the interaction of industry and nature, often highlighting the smaller details of our environment that get overlooked in the rush of daily life.

The Forum Quiz Night - Our brilliant quiz nights are held from 8pm on the second Friday of every month. Teams are limited to four players and entry is £1 per player with prizes available!

Quillseekers Poetry Night - Quillseekers is a monthly poetry evening hosted by local poet, Caitlin Kendall. From 8pm on the last Friday of the month you can join us in our cafe/ bar for a friendly and relaxed evening of shared poetry with open mic opportunities.

27th June, Quillseekers guest poet: Jasmine Jade Plumton.

Jasmine Jade Plumpton is a poet from South Shields. She is in her final year of an AHRC-funded Creative Writing PhD at Newcastle University and is working towards her first collection of poetry. Her practice-led research explores the interplay between poetry, photography, and trauma, with a particular focus on ekphrasis and the experience of class migration.
