In association with the Hexham & District Photographic Society, we're screening the brilliant photography documentary, McCullin (2012) for FREE. Founded in 1947, the Hexham & District Photographic Society is one of the longest established in Northumberland. Their primary aim is to encourage the love and appreciation of all aspects of photography, and help our members develop their own photographic skills. The society meets at the Torch Centre (opposite the Hexham General Hospital), on Tuesday evenings from the first Tuesday in September, to the last Tuesday in April. Their syllabus provides a wide range of speakers, both members & external visitors, who discuss their work, photographic techniques and present examples of their images in print or as projected digital images. For more information: For membership inquiries: To many, Don McCullin is the greatest living war photographer, often cited as an inspiration for today's photojournalists. For the first time, McCullin speaks candidly about his three-decade career covering wars and humanitarian disasters on virtually every continent and the photographs that often defined historic moments.
