Smallest Show on Earth

The Forum Cinema Supporters' association invites all friends of the Forum to join them at the launch of the “Lights! Curtains! Action!" appeal. Which will raise funds to help restore the Art-Deco fixtures and worn out features of the Forum Cinema.

Following an introduction to the campaign we will enjoy a screening of the delightfully charming and wickedly funny, The Smallest Show on Earth.

In this forgotten British classic, a young couple, played by Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers, inherit a small-town cinema known to locals as the Flea Pit, along with its elderly, eccentric staff - Margaret Rutherford, who played the piano in the silent days, but now sits at the cash desk; Peter Sellers, the projectionist with a weakness for whisky; and Bernard Miles, a doorman and general handyman.

The Smallest Show on Earth is a wonderful snapshot through the world of cinema-going in the 1950s. A real rare treat for all cinephiles and our Friends of the Forum members can claim a free ticket by booking using their membership!
