Metropolis (1927)

Food then film (There will be an intermission)

Fritz Lang’s Metropolis is a futuristic and visually compelling allegorical look at relations between capital and labour in a Big Brother society ruled by robots, antagonism and fear. His vision of a futuristic city where workers toil for their domineering overseers has proved an immeasurable influence on science-fiction filmmaking.

South Tyne Cinema Circuit has been projecting films across the North of England for over 20 years.  They have been based at The General Havelock pub for the last 3-4 years. They have screened in castles, village halls, theatres, isolated rural venues, and in cities. STCC is run by local film production company Haltwhistle Film Project.

Led by Forum Cinema Hexham, Tyne Valley Film Festival will bring together communities in and around the Tyne Valley for a celebration of the history of film.
