Berliner Philharmoniker NYE 2023 Concert

Siegmund in Richard Wagner’s Walküre is a signature role for Jonas Kaufmann. The world-renowned tenor is passionate, radiant and combative in his portrayal of the tragic hero at the centre of a love triangle that confronts us with the emotional extremes of revenge, incest and lover’s bliss.


To celebrate the end of the year, chief conductor Kirill Petrenko, an acclaimed interpreter of Wagner, conducts the first act of the opera at the Berliner Philharmoniker’s New Year’s Eve Concert, broadcast live to cinemas. The programme opens with excerpts from Tannhäuser that encapsulate the grandeur of Wagner’s great work.

The Ice Mile documents Becca over the course of a year, following her journey and her training, documenting what it takes to consider an Ice Mile. It takes us through the beauty and the harshness of UK landscapes through the exploration of bodies of water, celebrating our natural spaces – from mountain tarns to the ocean that surrounds us.
